To lend a rural touch to the festivities, Grammy Award winner Reba McEntire made her Super Bowl debut with a lovely rendering of the national anthem. Even though it was her first ever Super Bowl performance, McEntire, in an interview with “CBS Mornings,” felt comfortable due to years of singing the national anthem.

McEntire said: “You just warm up like you do a concert and sing it about five or six times, and get in there, and do it .

“This ain’t my first rodeo! I’d never have imagined when I sang the anthem at the National Finals Rodeo 50 years ago that I’d be singing it today at the Super Bowl,”

Arriving at Allegiant stadium 3 1/2 hours before kickoff, McEntire showed up in style in a puffy, gray faux fur coat, clasping the hand of her partner, Rex Linn.

Singing the national anthem alongside flag-bearing service-members and jet-flying over Allegiant Stadium, McEntire created a highly patriotic atmosphere.

The pregame acts exhibit a wide variety. Singer Post Malone performed “America the Beautiful” playing a guitar as his musical abilities. The singer Andra Day performed the song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” with deep soul, sometimes called the Black anthem. For every song, there was an American Sign Language performance featuring actor Daniel Durant (famous from the film “CODA”) signing the national anthem. Anjel Piñero, who is an actress, model, and dancer, performed “America the Beautiful,” while Shaheem Sanchez, who is an actor and choreographer, signed “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
